These 304 stainless steel long tube headers are for the 2005-2008 LS2 and LS3 powered Chevrolet Corvette. Kooks builds all of their products to the highest standard, and these are possibly the best headers you can buy for your C6. They feature 1 3/4 primaries, and 3 merge collectors with O2 Bugs welded into the collector. With a proper tune at, these headers are good for 20-35HP depending on the vehicle.

To connect these headers to your exhaust, you will need a Kooks high flow X-pipe. These all 304 stainless high quality X-pipes come without cats (off road), or with Kooks high flow catalytic converters. On top of the standard rear O2 bungs, these X-pipes also include an extra O2 bung and screw cap for wideband tuning. The standard X-pipe size is 3 Inlet, 3 Center Section, and 2.5 Outlets to connect to your stock/aftermarket 2.5 axleback. If you have a 3 axleback, you will need Kooks Z06 X-pipe, which is a full 3.

Includes O2 Extenders, along with all bolts and gaskets needed for installation (2 stock O2 wires are reused during installation).

Which Header Size Should you Choose?

The 1 3/4 headers are intended for bolt on and mild internal engine work applications like a small cam. For cars modified on a higher level like heads and cam, nitrous, or supercharged, 1 7/8 Headers are recommend. If you are not clear on your future intentions, you can run 1 7/8 headers on a bolt on LSX motor with very little change in the power curve anywhere. Choosing the larger header size up front will give you room to grow with little downside in the short term.

For years we have been dedicated to proving our header customers with the best header coating options at affordable prices. Recently our main coater Jet Hot who we have had a great relationship with for years was taken over by new ownership. The new owners have done away with their dealer program resulting in everyone paying drastically higher prices. In response, we have lined up two great competing coating company's offerings for our customers that will allow us to offer the same low prices as before. The coatings all the companies use are very similar, and the main difference is the time an attention put in to doing the job right,

  • Airborn Coatings has a history that goes back as far at Jet Hot. Their owner is a chemist who had a hand in developing ceramic coatings. Airborn offer the same great 1700 degree inside and out silver coatings as Jet Hot with a great warranty to back it up.
  • Calico Coatings is from the heart of race country in North Carolina. They are Kooks preferred coater, and offer not just header coatings, but a wide range of engine and industrial coatings.
  • Jet Hot Coatings will still be offered for those who demand the name, however it will be at the new, higher price.

  • Integrated venturi merge spike for better savaging and less collector turbulence

My headers had the Sterling Silver Jet coat. Coating looked very similiar to chrome. Installed on my 08 Corvette with less than 1000 miles. Install was simple (lift recommended) with only one complaint. DO NOT use included gaskets. I ended up taking the driver's side off after aprox. 200 miles and installing the old factory gasket. Even Maryland Speed recommends using factory gasket. No leaks using OLD gasket. You will need some retune to elimanate the P0420 / P0430 code set (converter) on the high flow cats. Fuel milage went up to 28.5 MPG (averaging 80 MPH on 2400 mile trek). Thanks Aaron (hope I spelled correctly) and Maryland Speed for the deal. Shawn K.
