Racers know that a cooler running engine is a better performing engine. Reducing the temperature at which an engine runs will make more power through better thermal and volumetric efficiency. SLP offers this 160º thermostat for all LS1 Camaro/Firebirds, LS1/LS6 Corvettes, and Full Size Trucks equipped with 4.8, 5.3L, and 6.0L engines. This new thermostat replaces the factory 195º unit, allowing coolant to circulate at lower engine temperatures, keeping the engine cooler. Not legal for use on pollution controlled vehicles.
