Kooks is excited to offer several header options for the 4V 4.6L Mustang Cobra. This hand crafted header system has 1 3/4" primaries and a 3" collectors. They are welded from all 304 stainless, and include O2 Bungs along with the hardware needed to complete your install. EGR Fittings are available at an additional cost. This size is great for lightly to mildly modded cars.

To connect these headers to your Mustang's factory or aftermarket exhaust you will need a new Kooks X-pipe. For this header, we offer full stainless 3" Inlet X-pipes with a 2.5" OEM outlet (or full 3" Outlet). They are available without cats (Off Road), or with Kooks high flow cats. Like all Kooks products, they are built to the highest standard on the market! Includes O2 Extenders, along with all bolts and gaskets needed for installation

Note: 1996-1998 Must Use Anthony Jones Engine and Transmission Cross Member for these headers to fit.

Which Header Size Should you Choose?

Header primary size is an important decision. Choosing headers with primaries too big can reduce exhaust velocity costing horsepower and torque. On the flip side, choosing headers too small can create a bottleneck in your exhaust also costing performance. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us prior to ordering.

• Choose 1 3/4" x 2 1/2" Headers for lightly modified cars.

• Choose 1 5/8" x 1 3/4" x 3" Headers for cars with mild mods such as bolt-ons and minor internal work.

• Choose 1 3/4" x 3" Headers for seriously modified cars with internal engine work. Recommended for increased displacement applications, and stroker engines.

• Choose 1 7/8" x 3" Headers for highly modified cars with internal engine modifications, forced induction, or nitrous.

HEADER COATING-

For years we have been dedicated to proving our header customers with the best header coating options at affordable prices. Recently, Jet Hot, our main coater who we have had a great relationship with was taken over by new ownership. The new owners have done away with their dealer program, resulting in everyone paying drastically higher prices. In response, we have lined up two great competing coating company's offerings for our customers, which will allow us to offer the same low prices as before. The coatings all the companies use are very similar, and the main difference is the time an attention put in to doing the job right,

• Airborn Coatings has a history that goes back as far at Jet Hot. Their owner is a chemist who had a hand in developing ceramic coatings. Airborn offer the same great 1700 degree inside and out silver coatings as Jet Hot with a great warranty to back it up.
• Calico Coatings is from the heart of race country in North Carolina. They are Kooks "preferred" coater, and offer not just header coatings, but a wide range of engine and industrial coatings.
• Jet Hot Coatings will still be offered for those who demand the name, however it will be at the new, higher price.
